Lawrence Yaguang Zhang joined Canada Life in 2015, bringing with him over 18 years of significant leadership experience across the globe. His career started at Sony Hong Kong, followed by roles at BMW China and Jaguar Land Rover China, before venturing into financial and tax advisory with London Life's Freedom 55 Financial. A multiple-time recipient of the MDRT (Million Dollar Round Table) award, Lawrence has also successfully mentored 2 Top of the Table (TOT) financial advisors. In 2023, Lawrence embarked on a Wealth Management Master's program at Columbia University, aiming to earn his third master's degree by studying with America's leading financial, legal, and tax advisors, as well as family office managers, over 16 months.

Lawrence's extensive experience with Fortune 500 companies in sales, marketing, communications, and investor relations has equipped him with invaluable insights on the importance of exceptional customer experiences, the intrinsic link between sales channel management and brand reputation, and the impact of consistently applying excellence for achieving and sustaining success. His work, particularly in strategic collaborations with BMW and Jaguar Land Rover, has been instrumental in providing valuable advice to automotive dealerships at various stages of their business lifecycle. Additionally, as a personal investor in startups, Lawrence offers strategic financial guidance throughout the business cycle.

Lawrence graduated from Beijing Foreign Studies University in 2004 with a Bachelor's degree in English Literature and a minor in Economics, followed by an MBA from Peking University. He also holds a Master's degree in Global Finance from Fordham University in New York and is a Six Sigma Black Belt, demonstrating expertise in optimizing organizational processes through effective team management and coaching.

Since 2014, Lawrence has lived in Vancouver with his wife Rachel and their children, Lillian and Zachary. They take great pride in their Vancouverite identity, valuing the city's healthy and joyful lifestyle.
